In all the world, there is no heart for me like yours. In all the world, there is no love for you like mine."
– Maya Angelou
Our Story
We met at the illustrious Howard University in 2009 at a small gathering with friends. Although Stashá wasn’t going to attend at first, her friends dragged her out of her dorm anyway. Once there, we casually socialized with friends; all the while, Joey had his eyes on me the whole time. As the night neared its end, Stashá and her friends were getting ready to leave. Joey saw his moment; he held the door open and said to me, “I hope I see you again, Miss.” It was love at first sight. Once Stashá was gone, I asked my friends, "Who was that girl? That’s my future wife," unaware I spoke this into the universe.
Although our first meeting would only last a moment. We didn't reconnect until two years later. The re-connection we made sparked and grew bigger in DC the summer of 2011. By October 23, 2011, during that years Howard Homecoming, we began to officially date, and from then on, time seemed to just fly by. Surprisingly in 2012, we welcomed our firstborn son Kyon at Howard University Hospital. After graduation, our family moved to Joseph's hometown of Brooklyn, NY. Just when we thought our family was complete, we welcomed our second son Kamryn in 2017.
Over a decade together, there are many memories we can share. We started out as broke college students, became young parents of two amazing boys and now husband and wife. We wouldn't be where we are today without the help, guidance, and support of our loving family and true friends.
Things Are In Motion!
With the date set, we are underway with our nuptials ceremony and celebration. Your attendance is the greatest gift! We have already been blessed with a beautiful family and home with everything we need. However, if you were thinking of giving a gift, we would greatly appreciate monetary contributions towards our new life.
